Maurepaire, a 16 hectare lake that has become very famous among British carp hunters, is part of a big farm set in the fields of the Champagne region. It is a closed venue with 8 comfortable swims; some are wooden pontoons, the others are graveled pitches.
There are very few trees around the lake, so there's little shade on the swim. There's good access by car until swim 6; swims 7 and 8 are only accessible on foot.
Maurepaire has a healthy stock of 500 big carp between 15 and 58 pounds. The site is open from March until the end of August. This means that the carp have a 'break' of more than 6 months.
The use of bait-boats is strongly recommended so as to be able to fish close to the reed margins on the other side of the lake. The lake bottom is flat, without obstacles and consists of clay and silt.
On the farm the clients have all the necessary facilities such as shower, toilet, washbasin...
