Authentic Fishing - Top 17 acres fishery east of Paris
Authentic Fishing is a top 17 acres fishery in the little village of Villeneuve la Guyard, situated east of Paris. The carp fishing lake features 9 swims for a maximum of 10 anglers. The depths of this former gravel pit vary from 3,5 meters to a maximum of 6 meters (20 ft) deep. Being fead constantly by the river Yonne, the water is rich in nutrients for the carp and during the hotter summer months, the water level never suffers. There are huge numbers of carp to over 70lb (30kg). Authentic Fishing can bring authentic surprises!
The Lake
The bottom is fairly flat with hardly any obstacles. Apart from a few small plateaus, Authentic Fishing is the typical gravel pit with its deepest area in the middle. The depths vary from a few inches to 20 feet (6 meters), whilst the bottom is a fascinating combination of gravel and clay and some silt pockets. Weed is not a problem here.
The lake is a short 3 hour drive from the port of Calais.
The Swims
Authentic Fishing has 8 single swims and one double swim called the VIP swim. It accommodates up to 10 carp anglers.
The Carp
The fish of the Authentic Fishing lake are very strong. There are huge numbers of carp to over 70lb. The owner David estimates there are around 400 healthy carp in his lake and the average weight is around 15kg (30lb+). There's a good head of 40's, 50's and 60's. Although almost all the fish have been caught before, from time to time an unknown (big) carp comes out. Authentic Fishing can bring authentic surprises!
Other fish species you may expect are grass carp and catfish. In fact there are 2 catfish of 2 meters long and 5 catfish of 1,40 meters long.
There is some poisson chat, but they are in really small numbers. There is quite some crayfish however and the carp feed heavily on them.
The Facilities
The property features 2 toilets. Between swim 1 and the VIP swim there's a sanitary block with showers. Here you can also charge batteries and phones.
5 minutes from Authentic Fishing, there is a supermarket, bakery and butcher. There's also a pizzeria and they can deliver pizza at the gate of the venue.
The owner, David, speaks French and a little English.

Rules - Authentic Fishing
Northern France1. The angler should bring a valid booking confirmation.
2. It’s allowed to fish 24 hrs per day - catch and release
3. 3 rods per angler. Boats are only allowed with Lake Exclusive bookings. R/C bait boats are allowed.
4. Swimming is forbidden.
5. Allowed rigs: “carp friendly” rigs (safety bolt rigs), barbless hooks (max. size 6) and nylon mainline (max. 0,35mm). The hook-link may be stiff or braided, but should always be less strong than the main line. Please use anti tangle tubing to protect the fish.
6. Not Allowed: carp sacs, bent hooks, braided mainline, peanuts. Lead Core is not allowed. Rig tube is allowed. Tigre nuts not allowed.
7. Bivvies and tents should be brown or green. Each angler should have a big landingnet with a min. size of 90 cm and a big unhooking mat (min. 4 cm thick, 60 cm large and 90 cm long), a big weigh sling and Klinic to disinfect the hook wounds.
8. Fishing is only allowed on the booked swims. H markers or floating markers aren't allowed.
9. Please return the fish carefully to the water. Please don't stand up when making pictures with fish, kneel to make the picture or hold fish in the water.
10. Marking or steeling fish will be reported immediately to the local Police (Gendarmerie).
11. Alcohol abuse and drugs are not tolerated.
12. Please respect the nature and the tranquillity of the site. Keep clean the sanitary building and the swims. Please separate waste in the designated containers.
13. Dogs are not allowed. Open fire is not allowed. Gas cookers and barbecues are allowed.
14. The owner can keep the refundable payment if you don’t respect the regulations
15. Arrival: Between 10:00 AM and 02:00 PM. Departure: before 10:00 AM
16. The owner and the bailiff can check the hooklinks at any time.
17. The owner is not responsible for theft, fire, injury or what so ever.
18. Each angler should sign the regulations declaring that he/she accepts them.
PS. In case you are caught marking fish, you will have to deal with French Justice.

Good lake with a lot of good fish and David is a really nice guy. The facilities are obviously being improved which will only make the place better.

Lake is stunning the owner is so helpful lake is very deep so you need to find the shallows bait boat is a must the drive from tunnel is straight forward and around 35 Euros in tolls each way will worth a visit in summer and autumn
