The carp fishing venue in the Champagne region Maurepaire is Back on Track with reduced prices. A weeks fishing at this 37 acre lake is only 250€ per angler per week. The owners drained the lake this winter and removed the smaller fish and the nuisance fish which will provide more oxygen & more natural food to the 300 large mirrors and commons.
This will of course also increase the average weight of the catches. The surroundings from Maurepaire are soft rolling countryside, gently sloped farmland and some woods. 7 double swims are nestled between the reeds on the south east bank. It's a fairly shallow venue, just like many others in the area the soft silky bottom has hardly any obstacles. Maurepaire is stocked with around 300 mirrors & common carp. A lot of 40's, 50's & 60's come from La Horre.
IMPORTANT: there's a draw on arrival for the swims. You can't book a certain swim before you get there. We believe every swim will catch good because the fish stock is relatively high.
