Lucky Lake, situated 350 km from Calais (a 3 hours drive), stands as a gem for carp anglers nestled in the Champagne region of France. This 4-hectare / 10-acre waterbody, recently acquired by the young French carp angler Louis, aims to become a premier destination for an exclusive experience.

The Venue

The property comprise a square lake spanning 220 meters wide and 170 meters long, with depths ranging from 1.20 meters to 2.20 meters. The bottom is a mix of gravel and a layer of silt, free from obstacles. Weed formation is possible from April through September.

For anglers' convenience, a large wooden pontoon accommodates rodpods and bivvies, and across the lake, there's a second fishing spot available.

The Fish

Lucky Lake has a fish population estimated at 150-170 carp weighing between 20 lb (10 kg) to 55 lb (25 kg). During winter, the owner feeds the fish aiding in faster growth. Additionally, the lake houses large pikes and perch available for fishing.

While there are no bream, catfish, or sturgeon, there are freshwater crayfish that might challenge anglers (especially during summer time) to present their bait in a crayfish-resistant way. Louis has set traps to tackle this challenge and keep the crayfish under control.

The Hunter's Cabin

Accommodation at Lucky Lake offers a comfortable retreat for up to 4 anglers. The hunting lodge boasts a bedroom with two single beds, a fully equipped kitchen stocked with all essentials, a modern bathroom featuring a shower, toilet, and sink, along with electricity, heating, and a dining area for four. Essentially, it provides everything needed for a delightful week of carp fishing.

Facilities

Facilities, including the sanitary amenities, are new and well-maintained, featuring a spacious bathroom. Louis offers extra services such as the rental of a new boat with an electric motor, sale of particles, pellets, and boilies at attractive prices, and a BBQ available for anglers' use. Dogs are allowed, and Louis speaks both French and English.

While bottom sheets are provided, carp anglers should bring their own sleeping bag or blanket for a comfortable night's rest.
