Lake Description

Located in the small Normandy village of Neauphe-sous-Essai, Etang de Pesnel is a magnificent 12 hectares (or 28 acres) carp fishing lake. Its new owner Mickaël, the son of an experienced fish farmer, has everything it takes to make this venue a superb runswater.

The 7 swims, accommodating up to 10 anglers, are spread over the southern side of the venue. The bottom consists of gravel with a layer of silt; depths vary between 1 and 2.5 metres. There are no obstacles and hardly any weed formation. Don't worry about the nuisance fishg, on Pesnel you won't be bothered by freshwater crayfish or poisson chat.

Etang de Pesnel is part of a nature reserve. As a result, cars are not allowed to stay on the swim. You may, however, drive to the swim to load and unload. Afterwards, cars must be parked in the car park.

Boats are not allowed but RC bait boats are. Dogs are allowed. The site is fully enclosed, security is guaranteed.

Fish stock

The carp stock is estimated at 600 carp, with several exceeding 20 kg. The largest fish in the lake weigh around 25 kg.

Etang de Pesnel is a runswater where you may expect 10-25 fish per week. Other fish species present are catfish, some bream, silver carp, some large sturgeon and pike.
