La Loubière

La Loubière is located in the Cher region, only 40 minutes south of Bourges (Central France). Surrounded by large expanses of forests, fields and spectacular landscapes, this 37 acre carp fishing lake has only 6 swims. Managed by Guillaume, a professional fish farmer, La Loubière has a spectacular carp stock that has been completed with the carp from his former venue Etang Rys at the St. Augustin property. The lake record currently is a 74.3 lb (33,7 kg) mirror.

The Lake

In the late 90's, La Loubière was a public lake where people from the area used to for swimming and camping during summer time. Around 2005, Mr. de la Rochefoucault, owner of the 15th century Chateau de Lalande, bought the La Loubière property as hunting land. The lake and the fish haven't been of any interest more than 15 years.

Along with his other lakes Camalo and Etang Furet, since November 2020 Guillaume now also manages La Loubière. He has created a great carp fishing venue with good facilities and of course: big carp.

Fed by the river La Loubière, this lake receives plenty of fresh natural water to keep the oxygen and the water temperature in perfect conditions. The silty lake bottom is fairly flat with gentle slopes to the middle. The deepest area is at the far end.

The Swims

La Loubière is a 37 acre long stretched lake with 2 swims on the northwest bank and 5 swims on the southeast bank. Swim 6 is a nice double swim on the other side of the lake. All swims are double swims, except swims 4 which is a single swim.

Swims 1, 2 and 3 are grassy swims. Swims 4 and 5 are wooden pontoons. Swim 6 is a grassy swim and there is a wooden pontoon for the rodpod.

Swims 1, 2 and 3 have car access. Swims 4, 5 and 6 can only be reached on foot or by boat. Own boats aren't allowed, but you can rent one on site.

Accommodation at swims 2 and 3

Swims 2 and 3 at La Loubière now come with the added comfort of simple bungalows, perfect for those seeking a bit more ease during their fishing holiday in France. These bungalows are located right next to the swims, offering the convenience of sleeping in a regular bed with plenty of space to store your gear and keep everything dry. It’s an ideal option for you and your family to enjoy both comfort and fishing in one spot!

These bungalows do not have running water, electricity, or cooking hubs. However, the guests can use their gas cooker in the bungalow to prepare some food or hot beverages for example.

Each bungalow offers two bedrooms: one with a double bed and the other with two single beds, accommodating up to 4 people. The bungalows are equipped with new mattresses, but guests are required to bring their own bed linen, sleeping bags, and cutlery.

The Fish

The original stock has been completed with fish from Guillaume's former venue Etang Rys at the St. Augustin property. La Loubière has an estimate of 600 carp. There's a good head of 30's, 40's and 50's. Because it's a very rich lake with lots of natural food (bloodworms, small freshwater mussels, etc), the carp with gain weight quickly. The lake record currently is a 74.3 lb (33,7 kg) mirror.

There is grasscarp to keep the weed formation under control. There's no poisson chat, but there is crayfish.

Service & Amenities

In the farm next to the entrance of the property, new facilities have been installed for the anglers. They feature a WC, shower, washbasin and a fridge. There's electricity to charge phones and batteries.

Boats are for rent on site:

- boat rental: 70€ per week
- e-motor rental: 70€ per week

Guillaume also sells bait (boilies, pellets and particles) on site.
