Lake Description
Cottage Lake is a premier carp fishing destination nestled in the serene landscapes of Central France, spanning 4 hectares (10 acres) and available exclusively for private bookings for up to four anglers. The lake is home to a well-stocked population of 150 carp, with the largest weighing up to an impressive 25 kg (55 lb).
Guests can enjoy a luxurious stay in a safari tent with two bedrooms, a kitchen, and a dining area, all designed for a relaxing retreat in nature. Managed by the experienced Guillaume & Eloise, who have successfully operated renowned carp lakes like Camalo, Etang Furet, and La Loubière, Cottage Lake is a wild carp fishing lake, ideal for 4 anglers.
The Lake
The lake can be fished by up to 4 anglers. There is a double swim outside the safari tent however anglers can fish from anywhere along the grass lake banks, including pitching a bivvy.
The lake is stream-fed with exceptionally high water quality, providing an ideal environment for carp growth. Depths range from 0.5 meters (1.5 feet) in the shallows to approximately 1.7 meters (6 feet) at the deepest points, with a lake bed composed of sand, flint, and clay.
The Carp Stock
Cottage Lake had an original carp stock of carp around 10 kg (22 lb). The smallest carp have been removed to a breeding pond. The new owners, who are also famous fish farmers, have upgraded the carp stock adding biggers carp. The lake currently has around 150 carp and at least 7 fish weigh aproximately 25kg (55lbs). The average weight now is 12,5 kg (27lbs). The Cottage Lake also holds around 20 koi carp and 10 grass carp.
There's no bream, crayfish or catfish.
Facilities and Services
The venue features a safari tent with 2 bedrooms. Each bedroom has 2 single beds, so it can sleep up to 4 people.
There is a kitchen with gas cooker and a dining area with with a table and chairs and a seating area with a sofa. Outside is a BBQ and outdoor seating. Bear in mind there's no bed linen, running water, dishes or electricity in the tent.
Hot showers and toilets flushable toilets are a few minutes away and shared with the neighboring lake, Etang Furet which has the same owner. However, there is a dry toilet at the Cottage Lake.
Food package at Cottage Lake
A food package is available which can be delivered to the lake. This includes a continental style breakfast and freshly cooked dinner.
On site, you can also rent a bike.

Rules - Cottage Lake
Central France1. The angler should bring a valid booking confirmation.
2. It’s allowed to fish 24 hrs per day - catch and release
3. Boats not allowed. You may use bait boats.
4. Swimming is forbidden.
5. Allowed rigs: “carp friendly” rigs (safety bolt rigs, central shocker system, helicopter), only micro barbed hooks (size 4, 6 & 8) and nylon mainline. The hook link may be stiff or braided, but should always be less strong than the main line.
6. Not Allowed: carp sacs, bent hooks, braided mainline, peanuts, tiger nuts. Lead Core is not allowed. Rig tube is allowed.
7. 3 Rods per angler. Bivvies and tents should be brown or green.
Each angler should have a big landing net with a min. size of 90 cm and a big unhooking mat (min. 4 cm thick, 60 cm large and 90 cm long), a big weigh sling and Klinic to disinfect the hook wounds.
8. Fishing is only allowed around the entire lake.
9. Please return the fish carefully to the water
10. Marking or steeling fish will be reported immediately to the local Police (Gendarmerie).
11. Alcohol abuse and drugs are not tolerated.
12. Please respect the nature and the tranquillity of the site. Keep the facilities and the swims clean. Please separate waste in the designated containers.
13. Dogs are allowed (10€ fee per pet), but they should stay on the lake. Open fire is not allowed. Gas cookers and barbecues are allowed.
14. The owner can keep the refundable payment if you don’t respect the regulations
15. Arrival 14:00h. Please do NOT arrive before 14:00h. Departure 10:00h
16. The owner and the bailiff can check the hook links at any time.
17. The owner is not responsible for theft, fire, injury or what so ever.
18. A 5€ waste collection fee per person has to be paid on arrival. For the tent there's a 500€ refundable deposit (payable by card / PayPal).
19. Each angler should sign the regulations declaring that he/she accepts them.
