Etang 13 – Carp Fishing in Northern France
Etang 13 is located in the peaceful department of the Oise (60). This region of northern France offers beautiful, unspoiled countryside, providing a perfectly serene backdrop for your fishing trip. The venue is conveniently situated approximately 2 hours and 21 minutes (231 km) from Calais, making it a highly accessible and premier destination for UK anglers seeking a quality French carp fishing experience.
Lake & Stock
This 2.8-hectare (7-acre) lake is a mature and captivating water, characterized by its varied depths ranging from 4 meters (13ft) to an impressive 14 meters (46ft).
This old gravel pit still has the characteristic concentric circles with different levels of excavation. On one side, you can still clearly see a ramp that trucks used to drive up to bring the gravel to the surface. On one of these levels, which now has about 4 metres (13ft) of water, trees have started to grow during the excavation. Now, these are dead and form an area with snags in the 4 meters (13ft) depth zone, a key area where the largest residents often patrol. Notably, the rest of the lake is free from weed, allowing for clean presentations across all areas.
The lake holds around 150 carp, comprising a mix of stunning mirrors and powerful commons. The stock is of exceptional quality, highlighted by a record common of 25 kg (55 lb) and a magnificent mirror weighing 28 kg (62 lb), offering you the chance of a true lifetime catch.
Facilities & Access
Etang 13 caters for up to 3 anglers, ensuring an exclusive and private fishing experience with minimal pressure on the fish. The venue boasts excellent car access directly to the swims, simplifying your load-in and setup process. While the focus is on a natural and remote experience, you can remain connected thanks to good roaming coverage for mobile devices (please note, dedicated Wi-Fi is not provided).
Although there's a rowing boat at your disposal for free, we recommend you bring your own boat.
Etang 13 has facilities with a wash basin, a sink, a shower (with warm water) and electricity to charge batteries and mobile phones. The power is generated with solar panels, so don't expect fast charging.
The toilet is a dry toilet located just passed the entrance.
There's a Carrefour supermarket and a small restaurant at 2 minutes from the venue in the village of Auneuil. In Beauvais, 12 minutes from the lake, you'll find plenty of shops, restaurants, bars, supermarkets, hotels and even an international airport.
