Carp Fishing at Natura Carpe
Trosly-Breuil, Northern FranceLake Description
Nestled in the serene countryside of Northern France, Natura Carpe is a premier carp fishing venue that spans an impressive 16 hectares, or 40 acres, of pristine water and natural surroundings. Located in Trosley-Breuil and conveniently reachable in just over two hours from Calais, this lake offers a paradise for dedicated anglers seeking both quantity and quality in their catches.
When owner Jeoffrey from Pimprez was expropriated by the French state, he bought Natura Carpe. The biggest and best looking carp from Pimprez were moved to Natura Carpe. Stocked with approximately 560 robust carp, some of which weigh up to an impressive 31 kg (68 lb), Natura Carpe was already known for its remarkable fish stock. Now, it only got better!
Natura Carpe can be booked for entire weeks, midweeks and weekends.
Natura Carpe - The Lake
The lake’s depths range from 2.2 meters to 4 meters (7 to 13 feet), offering diverse spots ideal for all seasons, with shallow sections that thrive in warmer months and deeper areas that continue to yield impressive catches even as temperatures cool. Natura Carpe is largely obstacle-free, but anglers will find a few natural challenges near the margins where overhanging trees and the occasional snag create a unique fishing experience.
In the hotter months, weed formation is prominent, developing in distinct patches around the lake. This mix of weedy zones and open, clearer areas provides the perfect environment to find the lake’s impressive carp.
Surrounded by the tranquil beauty of Northern France, Natura Carpe is more than a fishing venue—it’s a destination that combines remarkable carp stock with natural allure, providing anglers with the perfect escape and the potential for an unforgettable catch.
The Fish Stock
Natura Carpe had an original - largely unknown - carp stock that will be supplemented considerably with fish from Pimprez, expropriated by the French state. The fish will largely be moved to Natura Carpe. The remaining fish will end up at Le Hameau. We estimate Natura Carpe's stock at around 560 carp, the lake record currently stands at 31 kg (68 lb).
The venue also has a healthy pike stock, there are perch and other fish species such as eel, bream, tench and rudd. There is no poisson chat. The freshwater crayfish found on Natura Carpe is the small ‘American’ variety which is not disruptive to carp fishing.
The Swims at Natura Carpe
The lake is long stretched with swims 1 to 11 on the southern bank. They are very spacious swims between the trees. There is excellent fishing on the banks next to the swims and under the overhanging trees on the opposite bank.
On the opposite bank northern bank is swim 12 with a chalet and swim 13, better known as ‘the bay’.
Swim 12 has a nice chalet facing south. The simple chalet has a small kitchenette, toilet and shower and two sofa beds. Ideal to rent with family and friends. A generator provides power in this accommodation. There is power as long as fuel lasts, after that guests can provide new fuel themselves.
Swim 13 is a wild swim, out of sight and away from other anglers. It is a very attractive swim with lots of interesting features: a shallower bay, overhanging trees and bigger depths further to the middle.
Swims 1, 5, 11 and 12 are double swims. The other swims are single swims. At Natura Carpe, the price is 420€ per angler, with 3 rods. Single swims can be booked by 2 anglers for 455€, with a maximum of 4 rods.
Swim 11 has a simple hunter's hut where anglers can store equipment and bait.
On the left had side from swim 11, the western part of the lake, there's a protected breeding area where carp fishing isn't allowed. In fact, there's hardly any carp in this protected area which is why it's completely covered with weed in summer time. On Google Maps you can see the net that seperates this part of the lake (with buoys).
Service
Close to swim 5, there is a bathroom with WC. For the time being, there is no shower. Between the chalet and swim 13 is a sanitary block with WC and shower.
Next to the sanitary facilities and the chalet, there is also a small tackle shop with some bait (boilies, pellets, particles, dips...) and some small equipment (hooks, weights, rigs...).
