Carp Fishing at Tronc du Chêne
Crévéchamps, La MoselleLake Description
Etang du Tronc de Chêne – A Paradise for Carp Anglers
Etang du Tronc de Chêne is an exclusive carp venue that welcomes anglers year-round at 19 strategically placed swims. This stunning waterbody boasts an average depth of 4 meters, with areas reaching up to 6 meters deep, offering a challenging and technically intriguing fishing experience.
And all that with a massive fish stock with carp up to a whopping 34.8kg / 76.7 lbs!
A Rich and Diverse Carp Stock
Etang du Tronc de Chêne is home to an impressive fish population, including mirror and common carp, sturgeon, pike, zander, and silverfish. The natural fish population - estimated 900+ carp - has been self-sustaining for over 15 years, contributing to a healthy and diverse ecosystem.
The records speak for themselves: in 2024, a common carp weighing 34.8 kg / 76.7 lbs and a pike measuring 1.16 meters were caught! The largest mirror carp weighs 32kg for now. There are at least five fish on the water weighing between 29kg and 34.8kg.
The Swims
The venue has 19 swims in total. Almost all swims are double swims, except swims 12, 16 and 18: these are singles. The double swims can also be booked by one angler.
When booking a double swim for two anglers, there's a discount:
Price weekend 1 angler € 125, 2 anglers € 210 (= 105€ per angler)
Price midweek 1 angler € 150, 2 anglers € 250 (= € 125 per angler)
Price week 1 angler € 210, 2 anglers € 335 (= € 167,50 per angler)
To provide maximum space for anglers, when a particular swim is booked some neighbouring swims are blocked. When swim 7 is booked, swim 8 is automatically blocked, and vice versa. This is also the case for swims 10 and 13; and swims 11 and 12.
Swims 1 to 8, 16 and 17 are ideal for anglers who like to come with their camper van. Swims 8, 9 and 10 are ideal for a group of 3 anglers.
Tronc du Chêne can be booked for entire weeks, weekends and midweeks.
Service
Tronc du Chêne is a carp lake with no electricity, no running water and no sanitary facilities. There are only 2 simple dry toilets. But this has kept prices very low.
The whole domain is very well maintained and looks tidy.
Respect for Nature and Fishing
Cap Nature is committed to supporting both beginner and experienced anglers, offering guidance on techniques and observations. Catch & Release fishing is a core principle, as is respect for nature. Anglers and their guides can use eco-friendly dry toilets, ensuring minimal impact on the environment.
The board wants the best for the carp and for the carp angler. Each swim will be left alone for at least 24 hours after the anglers leave. Upon arrival, new guests have the guarantee that the swim was not fished for at least a day.
Limited use of Bait Boats
The use of bait boats is limited to ensure that people do not fish on the same spots all the time. To use a bait boat, a ‘permit’ must be paid on site (25€ for a weekend, 30€ for a midweek and 40€ for the week). Bait boats can be used with a maximum range of 100 metres from the swim.
From 1 May to 31 August, the bait boat can be used. In the early and late season, the use of the bait boat is limited. From 1 January to 30 April the boat can only be used during odd weeks; from 1 September to 31 December only during even weeks. If you have any doubts, please contact us here.
Obviously, Etang du Tronc du Chêne can also be fished without bait boat. Ordinary boats may not be used.
